2024 and 2025 mark two (2) incredible milestones for Derek Allchurch: a 10-year career at Pipella Law; and a 30-year membership with the Alberta Bar.
Derek’s career is proof of his love of representing the vulnerable, and his unwavering dedication to personal injury litigation.
After graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta, Derek started his legal career, articling in Edmonton, before returning to Calgary in 1995. Since then, he has had an outstanding career, as a Plaintiffs’ Personal Injury Lawyer, guiding severely injured clients, through various challenging legal obstacles.
Derek has appeared in the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, the Alberta Court of Appeal, and the Provincial Court of Alberta. He is a ‘seasoned pro’ in alternative dispute resolution, with numerous mediations and judicial dispute resolutions, to date.
Apart from his legal work, Derek has written on Alberta’s Minor Injury Regulation and has given his time and knowledge to many community initiatives.
Derek’s energetic attitude and zest for life is demonstrated by his enjoyment of the outdoors as a frequent golfer, hockey player, fisher, and skier, when he is not practicing law.
