The Owen Hart Foundation celebrated its 25th anniversary with a spectacular evening of comedy featuring the legendary Jerry Seinfeld. The event, “An Evening with Jerry Seinfeld,” took place on November 16, 2024, at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium (SAIT), in Calgary. Fans of Seinfeld enjoyed two performances, one at 6 PM and another at 9 PM, making it a night to remember.
This event was extraordinary as it marked the third time Seinfeld had performed for the Owen Hart Foundation, having previously graced the stage at their 10th and 20th Anniversary Celebrations.
Dr. Martha Hart, founder of the Owen Hart Foundation, expressed her excitement: “We were ecstatic to host the one-and-only Jerry Seinfeld for the third time! His career has been enormously successful, and we felt tremendously honoured to host such a talented, formidable, and iconic performer.”
The Owen Hart Foundation, established in memory of the late wrestler, Owen Hart, has been a pillar of support within the Calgary community and beyond. Over the past 25 years, the foundation has raised significant funds for various causes, including education, affordable housing, and foreign aid. The annual event has featured numerous legendary performers; and this year was no exception.
In addition to the comedy show, the foundation introduced a celebrity online auction with over $40,000 in prize value. This unique auction aimed to raise additional funds for the foundation’s charitable initiatives. Dr. Martha Hart highlighted the community’s support: “We were thrilled to have so many businesses donate to our online auction, resulting in the most amazing items for people to bid on.”
