Over the years, our personal injury law firm in Calgary has always placed a high priority on our professional and personal involvement in the local community. Many of our key staff members and partners hold some level of involvement through volunteering for charitable causes, while also offering our professional insight with positions on several boards for select community organizations. In addition to our community participation which is written about on the Pipella Law Current News Blog, the following outlines a number of the charity and community groups with which we are currently involved.
The Calgary Flame’s Adopt-A-Team Program
Since the 1999-2000 hockey season, businesses and individuals in Calgary have adopted more than 1,400 teams, providing more than 130,000 Calgary Flames hockey tickets to minor hockey players and the community. Every year, Pipella Law provides over 110 Flames tickets to an adopted team. Tickets are distributed to players to attend games with their family members, to thank team volunteers, and to use for team fundraising initiatives.

Southern Alberta Brain Injury Society (SABIS)
The Southern Alberta Brain Injury Society is dedicated to helping adults with an acquired brain injury and family caregivers obtain the supports and services the adult survivor needs to live as independently as possible in the community. Incorporated under the Societies Act of Alberta in 1985 as a non-profit registered charity, SABIS offers lifelong supports and services for adults with acquired brain injury and their families at no cost to individuals and families. SABIS promotes open and inclusive communities for all persons regardless of the severity of their brain injury.
Both Tara and Kimber Pipella sit on the SABIS Board Of Directors.

Association of the Rehabilitation of the Brain Injured (ARBI)
ARBI provides intensive community-based rehabilitation and family support in a nurturing environment. With personalized rehabilitation, and lots of encouragement, survivors can once again enjoy fulfilling lives in their communities.
Kimber Pipella served a position on the ARBI Board Of Directors for close to two years.

Spinal Cord Injury Alberta (SCI Alberta)
Since 1945, Spinal Cord Injury Alberta (SCI Alberta), formerly known as the Canadian Paraplegic Association, has been helping Canadians with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities. Started by a core group of WWII veterans in Ontario, the association has expanded to include offices in almost every province. The Canadian Paraplegic Association (Alberta) was founded in 1961. Since then, it has been a leader in offering support, direct service, information and advocacy to Albertans with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities. It carries the mission to, “assist persons with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities to achieve independence, self-reliance and full community participation”.
Pipella Law proudly sponsors many programs within Spinal Cord Injury Alberta and holds a close relationship with the organization.
